Must do in Sedona, Arizona!

Sedona is one of my favorite places to visit in Arizona. There are so many must-do things to do in Sedona. I have been to Sedona several times since moving to Arizona. It is well known for the red rock color in the mountains and energy vortex. Sedona has many hiking trails ranging from easy to hard in difficulty. Also, there are many restaurants and wineries nearby. Sedona is the perfect place to go if you are also looking for pet-friendly things to do. There are many pet-friendly hotels, hiking trails, and restaurants.

Devil’s Bridge

Hiking Trails

Devil’s Bridge, Seven Sacred pools, Airport Mesa trail, and Cathedral Rock are some of the most popular hikes in Sedona. Devil’s Bridge is not your normal bridge and it’s a “natural sandstone arch”. It can be a little scary to cross if you are not used to heights and if you decide to cross it don’t look down. (picture above)

The way up Cathedral Rock can also be scary if you are not used to climbing up mountains. I got to the middle of the mountain, and I was afraid to go up. It took me a while and after watching several people going up I decided to go up. The view from the top of Cathedral Rock is amazing and you can see Sedona from the top. From the middle of the park, you can see the other side of Cathedral Rock which is one of the most photographed sandstone butte formations. You might encounter a javelina (they look like pigs) and if you see one go the other way, they are not friendly.

To search for hikes by distance and get more information I use the AllTrails app. If you don’t like hiking but still want to get the experience of Sedona you can do this off-road tour by Sedona Outback Trail Jeep Adventure. The tour will take you to see the most dramatic views of Sedona including Cathedral Rock, Thunder Mountain, Bear Mountain, and more.

Where to eat?

Elote Cafe, Pisa Lisa, and Cusina Rustica are some of my favorite restaurants in Sedona. Elote Cafe is an award-winning restaurant that blends Mexican & Southwestern cuisine. The food at Elote Cafe is super delicious and I feel like it’s a little more upscale than most Mexican restaurants I have been to.

For pizza, my go-to restaurant is Pisa Lisa they also have delicious gelato and pastries. And for Italian cuisine, my favorite restaurant in Sedona is Cucina Rustica. The food is super delicious, and they have a nice outdoor sitting that will transport you to eating al fresco in Italy.

There are many other really good restaurants in Sedona, but I find myself going back to these 3 restaurants. Another restaurant that looks good and has amazing views, but I haven’t been able to visit yet either because I haven’t been able to get a reservation while there, or they don’t do take-out is Mariposa. Wheater you are looking for vegetarian, seafood, or other types of restaurants Sedona has it all.

Wineries and Vineyards.

Sedona is the perfect place to go if you like wine. There are many wine-tasting rooms, and the wineries are located in Cottonwood and Oak Creek about 30 minutes away from Sedona. I have been to Vino Di Sedona they offer wine tastings and have live music. I also took a guided wine tour by Bliss Wine Tour of several wineries in Cottonwood a few years ago. The tour company picked us up at the hotel in Sedona, took us to the wineries, and drop us back. There are several other wine tour companies in Sedona. This all-inclusive wine tour experience is operated by Arizona Wine Tour. I really recommend doing a wine tour. I had a nice day visiting the local wineries and tasting the local wines.

Places to stay

There are many hotels and resorts in Sedona with beautiful views of the mountains. Some of the hotels that we recommend and can offer extra amenities are L’auberge de Sedona and Enchantment Resort. The amenities that we offer are a $100 resort credit, daily complimentary breakfast, early check-in & late check-out based on availability, upgrade at time of check in based on availability and free wifi.
